I have this thing with miniatures, they are just so cute!
This a model of the Iberostar Parque Central hotel complete with a mini Paseo del Prado, Havana's famous promenade.
Until recently the Parque Central hotel was one of the few Old Havana hotels considered "5 star", but in the last 2 years there has been a furor of construction aimed at the luxury traveler. Manzana Kempinski and Iberostar Grand Packard provide very posh lodging, SO/Paseo del Prado will open next month and another Kempinski by the end of the year.
It's a risky investment considering that US travelers are a big market for luxury travel but tourism has dropped significantly under the Trump Administration. Also, most of these luxury hotels are on the US Treasury's prohibited list because they are in partnership with Gaviota, the tourism arm of the Cuban military. Hopefully tourists from other countries will fill the rooms, spas, and restaurants. And if you're from the US you can stop in to enjoy the hotel's beautiful views and then go home to your luxury casa particular, of which there are several ✨fabulous✨ options.
