This week as I was visiting home, we learned that my grandma was in the hospital. Mom and I hopped in the car and drove all day and night down to CA to see her and my granddad. Truth be told, I haven’t seen my grandparents in a verrryyy long time and they are not doing well.
It’s been a special trip, one that I consider a major blessing from God. This morning as I greeted my granddad, he said simply “It is a beautiful day to be alive. Every day is a beautiful day to be alive” reminded me of one of my inspirations @whitneyysimmons haha but also put a big smile in my heart 💕
My wise granddad also reminded me that life goes by at the speed of light. I asked him what his favorite part of his life was. “Well, I loved the whole thing,” he replied. “I’ve been very favored.” I can’t believe how often I let the little things in life get to me. How quick I am to jump to the negative, make excuses, or let life’s precious moments pass me by. I hope when I am that age, I look back to love the life I have lived.
Each moment we have is an opportunity to CHOOSE life. To ENJOY it. Life is precious - and I’m determined to make the most of it! This is why I set goals and work on bettering myself physically, mentally, spiritually...so that I can be there for the people I love 💗
We can’t always avoid the challenges of life. But I know I at least can do a better job of celebrating the joys of life, like my granddad.
Take the time to squeeze your loved ones a little extra. Make the sacrifice to visit or reach out to people that you’ve lost contact with, even if it’s an inconvenience. There are many hidden blessings awaiting ✨
