•mindfulness• I had the pleasure to spend this Sunday with a lot of amazing people at @yunaplacegraz, flowing through an amazing vinyasa class and getting deep in an nourishing, heart opening yin class both guided by @kestyoga 💛 And even my lunch break was filled with lovely people, talking about yoga, being aware, being mindful, about listening, being quiet and all that amazing benefits those qualities are having on our whole body and mind - on our whole life 💛 It’s not about only being mindful in how we move or during our yoga class - it’s about how we can bring that mindfulness into our everyday life. All day long we get told what to eat, to drink, what to wear, how to move, what to think and how to look - we get told how to behave and how to life our lives. It sometimes feels like we don’t know what’s right for us and like we can’t even know it, because it just seems like everybody else already knows it better. To reconnect to ourselves, to dive deep into our own needs, thoughts, wishes, fears and dreams is what helps us to get more mindful, to get to know ourselves better and what helps us, to decide what feels best for us and with that, what is the best for us. We have to act mindful, move mindful, eat and drink mindful to truly become the best version of ourselves for ourselves 💛 to life that long and happy live filled with love and gratitude 💛 Through yoga and meditation, through simply breathing, we start practicing to be aware and mindful, to concentrate on the really important stuff and we practice to clear our mind. but through bringing those qualities of mindfulness into our every day live, we are making the real changes 💛 #bemindful #beaware #yoga #practice #becomethebestversionofyourself #connectwithyourself #dowhatfeelsgood #doityourownway #doitmindfully #listentoyourbody #breathe #listentoyourbreath

Look around you, people are born and then spend their whole lives working, paying their bills and then they die, is that really living. Today is the day you can break out of this perceived sense of living and start to live life on your terms. Get off the path of average and onto the path of I’M GOING TO make THIS PLACE my playground and going to make my own rules. Why do we have to stay in this system that kills our dreams and turns us into zombies who live life on auto pilot, some people have been in the same place for the past twenty years. This is a life of abundance and goodness, who created this game? YOU! So You can choose just to be and be able to do a lot more of what you do. Never EVER finish a workout without stretching! I got a bit conceited lately and I thought, “I don’t need a stretch, I workout three hours a day.” That was a horrible idea, my body was in pain for two days! So remember to ALWAYS stretch the specific muscles you’ve been exercising because it will hurt if you don’t! When you stretch, you release the tension accumulated in the muscles, reducing muscle fatigue caused by lactic acid built-up when exercising. Lactic acid causes muscle soreness and fatigue. We don’t want that, we want to keep going the next day and keep challenging ourselves. • What an amazingly fun weekend this has been. I highly recommend visiting the Psychedelic Funhouse (18+) for any of you kooky cats on here, you will love it!! • Going to super fun events like these is definitely a recent thing for me. I spent the early part of my twenties succumbing to super intense anxiety issues. Any events like these I would have swerved like the plague. A trip to the local shop was panic-inducing enough, so I really spent a lot of time as a recluse, staying close to my Mum as she was my place of safety. • I still feel waves of super intense anxiety, although, what I now have, is a handy little toolbox of coping techniques and I am going to share one of these with you, as its quite a fun one and I feel anyone who suffers with social anxiety, needs a brimming box of tools for every occasion. • So yea, rewind to yesterday and I’m on the tubes. Riding the underground in London gives me MAJOR anxiety. I am so empathic, I can feel so much of what those around me feel. This seems to hundredfold in intensity on the tube so yesterday I played this little game and by the end of it, I felt just fine and dandy! • So! You take your train ticket and hold it so you can see all of the writing on it. You then begin to focus on each of the letters, one by one, starting with the letter ‘a’. Find all the letters ‘a’ then ‘b’ then ‘c’ and so on, doing this slowly and deliberately (this is doing an activity mindfully!) and soon you will find your levels of anxiety dipping and reducing in intensity. Repeat this until your anxiety has diminished, going A-Z across your ticket as many times as necessary. • I usually come off the tube dripping with sweat no matter the season and shaking like a leaf, however yesterday, thanks to my new found ability to practice mindfulness, I came out of the underground with a spring in my step, celebrating the fact I had won my battle with those demons which cause the experience of social anxiety. • It is my wish that all the suffering world finds it within themselves to master the skill of mindfulness. It has been the biggest game changer in my life. • Love and light always. • #sundays

Christmas tree challenge: If you haven't already put up your tree, this challenge is for you. When you get the old box outta the closet this year to put up your tree and roll into the festivities of the silly season, your challenge is to do it mindfully. Be fully present when decorating, humming, yelling at the other person for not decorating it right, and admiring your tree. Notice your senses, what you can feel and see and smell.
